Lia is a retired teacher who has made a promise to find her long lost niece, Tekla, a transgender woman. When Lia discovers from a neighbour that Tekla might now be living in Turkey, she sets off to try to find her, hoping to bring her back home after a period of estrangement. As Lia explores the backstreets of Istanbul, she meets Evrim, a lawyer fighting for trans rights, who can hopefully help in the search for her niece. This is a compassionate film that has won multiple awards.
