Review: Luzzu

Jesmark inherits his colourful but leaking fishing boat from a long line of seamen going back to his great grandfather. But with mounting bills and a small child in need of special care, Jesmark is at breaking point. He is tempted to sell his family boat and join a black market operation that’s decimating the Mediterranean fish population and the livelihoods of local families. This film is both a commentary on the darker side of globalisation and modern commerce. Interestingly the cast are largely non professional actors from this way of life that is in crisis.
